Chilli Morning

Chilli was produced by Nick Gauntlett. Mary King had taken over the ride at the start of 2012 but following a disappointing round at Belton in March I was asked by Chris Stone if I would take Chilli on.

He is a lovely horse and I had my first ride on him at Aston Le Walls (OI). Following this I made the decision to take him to Houghton for the CCI** before taking him to Bramham for the CCI***. I felt it was important to get to know him in a three day event environment and Houghton seemed the ideal situation.

This proved a very good plan. At Houghton he led the dressage, went clear across country picking up 5.4 time penaltiies as I didn't rush him and he rolled a pole show jumping which left him in 6th. He went to Bramham in really good order having come out of Houghton very well and led from start ot finish to win by just over 10 marks, adding just 4 penalties (in the show jumping) to his dressage score of 39.2. This was a better result than I could have hoped and I am thrilled for his owner Christopher Stone.

Chilli had a quiet few weeks then after easy runs at Aston Le Walls & Gatcombe he went onto win his Advanced section at Little Downham. This was the ideal preperation for Pau CCI**** in a few weeks time.

Chilli is not available for live covering during 2012 as we are concentrating on his eventing career however straws are available for AI. For more information on his stud work please contat Elodie Frost - admin@gemmatattersall.com .
